Safer Surfacing
The basis of the requirements for playground equipment and thus for the safety of the equipment are based upon the respectively current version of DIN EN 1176, part 1-7 and also DIN 33942 for barrier-free playground equipment.
The requirements for shock absorbing playground surfaces are set out in DIN EN 1177. For the planning of playgrounds, the DIN 18034 “Playgrounds and open spaces for playing – requirements and instructions for planning and operation” and the relevant standards for barrier-free play (DIN 18024 and 180309) are to be observed.
